Gardening is the passion of the owners of the house and as a result is very much part of the house’s charm and character. The front and south facing aspect of the house is surrounded by lawns. Access to the pool is via a simple gated fence and it is situated directly in front of the outside eating area and terrace.
The pool is surrounded by grass and bordered with a Cape Dutch inspired wall, clad in Virginia creeper. The pool is cleaned on a daily basis. The raised area of garden is a mix of shrubs, a small parterre garden centred on a fig tree and a small area planted with olive trees. At the rear of the house, on a level below accessed by steps, is a wild meadow strewn olive trees and with a terrain de boules to one side. The entire property is bordered with vines.
The house and garden have extensive terraces. On the pool and garden side of the house, outside the kitchen door, is the main dining terrace, under cover. Around the corner, outside the living room door, is another long terrace under a wisteria-covered pergola. At one end of this is a seated area for entertaining, or just relaxing.
It is easy to arrange tables to be able to eat lunch or dine on this terrace, in the dappled light of day or by candlelight in the cool of evening. In the garden, near the pool, is a small walled circular area in the shade of an olive tree with a circular table and chairs, ideal for lunch or dinner.
Beautiful house; stunning garden and pool area
We have had a perfect holiday with our children in this lovely French home. Beautiful gardens and swimming pool area. Although near the buzz of St Tropez and Pampelonne beaches, maximal peace and privacy. Within 3 minutes drive of a lot of different kind of beaches. And no queing for St. Tropez!
